dude, if it is not a steroid and just vitamins, why does it cause birth defects?

It can cause birth defects because the fact that is such a potent drug. It is basically a VERY high dose of Vitamin A. If it has the possibility of making a grown person's liver fail, just think of what it could do to an unborn child.
