The computer saves all your settings and remembers what pages you have open and what's in those pages and then shuts off. When it is turned back on it re-displays all the windows you had open with all the text in it. So if you have internet explorer open to google and hibernate the computer, when you turn it on again internet explorer open to google will open up immediately.

ok fuifui is completly wrong and the other person is half right. When a computer goes into hibernate it is something like stand by, But the computer is basically shut off, But all your pages stay up, Hibernate means the hard drive in the computer has shut off.

No, FuiFui is wrong... Hibernate means to put it to sleep. Like, if you don't want to shut it down, just put it on hibernate. It will keep all of your pages up.
