softball or lacrosse

Question Posted Friday January 26 2007, 7:29 pm

15/f
ok i need help deciding what sport to play in the spring, sports are required at my school and i can't decide whether to play softball or lacrosse, I've never played either. I'm pretty fast, a good athlete. The softball team has really cool people on it, like my bestfriend and other people i like, plus the coach is really good, he wants me to play. LAcrosse seems more of a sport for me because it's a lot of running rather than strategy but i can't decide! also, lacrosse i don't like the people on the team as much, but i do have some friends on it, and there is one girl who plays who is such a self absorbed ball hog and that frustrates me.
I can't decide, I want to do something that would be fun, not boring, and a good sport for me. HELP PLEASE

I need some advice from people who have played either or both, thanks, i'll rate you 5 even if i don't agree with your advice, please i just need some insight

Don't base our decision on which team you have the most friends on. That might work agaginst you cause you might have a lil too much fun and not be as much into the game. As far as not liking the people on the lacrosse team, sports teams usually form a bond since they depend on each other to win their games. Just do what you think you will have the most fun playing, and if you don't like it try the other team next year. I myself played softball for years, I was used to playing baseball in the streets with the guys when I was younger so I joined a softball team. I loved it.

i would try lacrosse this year and see if you like it, even if you don't like the people on the team now you never know how they would act in a different situation.. i alot of snobby girls really let themselves go and are a lot nicer when playing sports. you would probably also be on varsity since you already know you're fast... and that would look good for college apps. plus, if you don't like it, then you can always do softball next year. hope this helped!

It sounds like you've already made a pro & con list for each sport, now all you have left to do is pick one. I personally say go with softball. I've played for 5 years, and I absoultely love it! There is so much that goes into one game, it's really exciting. But if you honestly think lacrosse is more for you, go for it! You'll make new friendships through the team. Good luck deciding, & let me know what you pick.

EDIT: to answer your question... No, I don't think you'll get bored. You're either batting or feilding, so you're always doin' something. It's a really good sport to shine in too. If you're really good you'll stand out & love it even more. Pratice does make perfect. It's a super fun sport, to me atleast, hopefully you'll like it too.
