Dress Shoes?

Question Posted Friday January 26 2007, 10:16 am

I'm a female, size 11 shoe, and about 5 foot 8 inches tall. I need some low dress shoes in my size for the winter formal. I am going with a guy who is about 2 inches shorter than I am, and he is scared to death that i'll tower over him. I need to find shoes fast!

I have large feet myself, and I've always been able to find cute (and good quality) shoes in my size at DSW. I wish I had more advice than that..but mostly I just wear open toe shoes to get away with smaller sizes. Good luck!! <3

I'm 5'8" too. I know where you're coming from. Before dating my current boyfriend, most guys we're an inch or two shorther than me. I'm telling you, go to NINE WEST. Seriously, they have the cutest flats & dressy ones at that. Perfect for a formal. I also buy a lot my shoes @ Journeys. It will be harder to find a good dance shoe, but there are some dressy enough. Promise. Good luck.

Try a pair of ballet flats. They are the flattest type of shoe you can get.

Lots of internet sites have good flats.
I buy shoes from Zappos all the time.
Here is a page with tons of different flat shoe styles:

If you want to buy shoes at a store, the quickest way, try some of these stores.

JC Penney:

How about trying a pair of flats? Normally, they are just considered casual. But depending on what kind you get, they can be worn as formal.

Or maybe try a pair such as these:
