blood test

Question Posted Tuesday January 23 2007, 5:31 pm

my friend smoked weed about a week ago and now she has to get a routine blood test *basic blood work to check levels and stuff* next week and we were wondering if it will show up and if it does will they say it to her parents when they answer the phone for the results.

Since she only smoked it up a week ago, it'll definitly show up, but luckily if they aren't specifically checking for marijuana, they aren't going to see it, and if it's only a blood level test, they aren't going to bother with that. If it does somehow show up, it depends on the doctor whether or whether not they inform the parents.

Marijuana can stay in a person's body for as long as 3 to 90 days after smoking. The most common period of time is anywhere from 3-30 days, depending on your metabolism and the amount of pot that you've smoked. Pot could still be detected in a urine test up to a month after the last time it is used. If you smoke it occasionally it will remain in your system for up to 10 days. If you smoke pot on a regular basis it will stay in your system for as long as 45 days, and if you smoke pot at a constant pace, it can stay in the body for 90 days.

If pot does show up (which it probably won't, since she's just going for a regular blood test), they'll probably end up telling her parent(s) over the phone when they call with the results, considering it's her parent that took her to the doctors' and payed for it. However, if your friend went to the doctors' herself and payed for it, her parents won't find out the results, only she will.

Depends on the age of your friend. If your friend goes to the doctor alone and pays for it, no problem. However, if her mom has insurance that is paying for the visit, they may well list the test results.

They won't find the weed unless they check for it.
They won't check for it unless it is needed. If it is needed then her mom will find out in all likelihood. Kinds under 18 don't have a LOT of rights
if the parents are footing the bill.

weed will stay in your blood for up to a month sometimes longer so it will definately show up in the test. tell your friend to make it clear that she doesnt want her parents to know about the use of drugs and if they find out and she didn't tell them then that doctor will face harsh penalties. Hope I could help o^-^o
