Is it ok if I painted my room right now in January? Some people say because of the smell to wait until summer. Which is best? And Can I paint it in the winter?

I actually prefer painting in the winter. In the summer the humidity can make the paint tacky to the touch and take a lil longer to dry. Just crack open the window a bit after you paint and don't sleep there until the smell fades.

I just recently painted my room before we moved into my house... I didnt sleep there but after 1-2 nights it was fine and we didnt leave windows open so go ahead. <3

You can paint it whenever you want. Sure summer is best, but if you really want your room a different color NOW then go for it. It might take a couple extra days to be compeltely odor-less so plan on sleeping in a guest room or on a couch somewhere else in the house while the fumes die down. Have fun.

The main reason why people say to wait until summer is so you can open your windows for ventilation. If you live in an area where that's not a problem during the winter, then paint away!
