Question Posted Monday January 22 2007, 2:10 pm

What's Buddhism and some of the ideas? I think I might want to convert. A friend said they are a lot happier since reading about it.

you should check out any of Deepak Chopra's books. He writes as a Buddhist to the non-Buddhist but it's not the end all be all of Buddhism. It's more philosophy based reasonings for connections between religion with a Buddhist undertone.

my personal belief is that Buddhists are nice people and the religion teaches good morals but many things, such as what happens after you die, isn't true. Basically some guy(the Buddha) made all this stuff up a long time ago.

Buddhism believes that there is no god or gods and the idea of reincarnation. They reject the social hierarchy. They're very into peace and meditation, and they're mostly pacfists.
