I received an Acer laptop [Model: Aspire 5003WLMi] in September of 2006 as a birthday present. Over those months, everything has been going great. However, in mid-December, my laptop has been making strange clicking noises. I found out that this is caused by something called 'kernal_data_inpage_error'. My computer would freeze, I would push and hold the power button, and my laptop would go to a blue screen that says 'KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR' at the top. My parents purchased a warranty for my laptop. Does this mean that I have to replace the hard drive?

If that doesn't work you'll almost certainly need a new hard drive. If it's still under warranty the company will provide one, but only if you call them as soon as installing windows doesn't work. Ask me a private question if you need help reinstalling windows or anything. Also, advicenators isn't really the place for technical questions, try annoyances.org or protonic.com.
