Make sure you use an oil-free moisturizer every morning. If you don't, your skin just becomes dryer and trys to over-compensate by producing lots of oil. So, although it may seem contradictory, you need to make sure you're using about a nickel-sized amount of face moisturizer every day. Lots of brands put Benzol Peroxide in theirs, which is used to help treat acne.
Also, make sure you aren't using too many different face washes. Trying out too many products, which you said you've been doing, can be bad for your skin. Start a routine, and stick with the same moisturizer, face wash, and exfoliator if you can. (Wash 1-2 times a day, and exfoliate 1-2 a week.)
Also, you might want to buy some oil-blotting sheets. Clean & Clear makes some for $4 or so. You just dab them over your face when you start to look oily, and they don't take your make-up off. DON'T keep adding on the powder- your face will look cakey and it will only keep coming off. You can't really "cover up" oil.
If none of those suggestions work, I would talk to a dermatologist. It may be that the Proactiv you're using is drying out your face, and they can recommend a product that's better for you. :) [ opinionated06's advice column | Ask opinionated06 A Question ]
pockets answered Friday January 12 2007, 7:18 pm: Wow. I read this and thought I asked it.
Same situation, same bad acne a year ago, same skin type, everything. I used proactiv and absolutley couldn't wash my face in the morning. My makeup came off halfway through the day. On weekends I could only do something during the day or at night because I couldn't wash my face and re-apply my makeup without getting an oily mess of fish scales.
Stop using proactiv. Go to the dermatologist and ask for a sulfur-based face wash. Also, use neutrogena moisturizer. I promise you, it worked for me, it'll work for you. After a week everything should be fine. I just started using it. I wash my face in the morning, at night, and in the late afternoon if I want to re-apply my makeup. Foundation stays on nearly all day. [ pockets's advice column | Ask pockets A Question ]
Blondie3233 answered Friday January 12 2007, 6:36 pm: A reason why your face could be getting so oiliy is because its very dry, which causes oil glands to act up. Tanning can dry your skin ( spray tans dont though). using moisturizer in the morning might help, i also use proactive and it does leave my face a little dry, so i use moisterizer to make it not dry and not so tight feeling. Hope i Helped <3 [ Blondie3233's advice column | Ask Blondie3233 A Question ]
