Just wondering When you brush your teeth should you use warm, hot, or cold water?
I know thats dumb but does it make a difference

That's not dumb! If I didn't know, I'd probably ask the same thing. Your best bet is to use warm-hot water. Hot water kills bacteria so it will get a lot of the bacteria on your toothbrush and teeth. They'll be a lot whiter! I canged from cold water to hot and I noticed a HUGE difference!
Hope I helped!

Bacteria like warm environments, if you got it hot enough to even start killing them your face would be melted. Same with ultra-cold environments(except instead of your face melting, it would shatter). Use cool water unless you like warm better, it doesn't make a difference. This is from wikipedia:
Likewise, no shower or bath you can take, no matter how hot, sterilizes bacteria on your skin. You would die from being scalded long before the water was actually hot enough to do anything but increase the rate of bacterial growth (again, ignoring the effects of any detergents or soaps). Most hot tap water is between 43 and 49°C (110 and 120°F), though some people set theirs as high as 55°C (130°F), all of which is considered a prime range for increasing bacterial growth, rather than sterilization, and most human beings shower in water considerably cooler, though it feels scalding hot to them. Humans find water painful at a mere 41 to 42°C (106 to 108°F), which to many bacteria is just starting to get warm enough for them to grow really fast; they will keep growing faster, rather than being killed, up to 55°C (130°F) or more.

well, i dont think temperature really has an effect on brushing your teeth, unless its boiling..um ouch?
but anyway, i just use cold water because a)it doesnt use any energy as opposed to using hot water thats been heated by your boiler, and b) germs and bacteria like warm moist environments...like your tooshbrush after using warm water.
if your worried about germs and stuff in your mouth, then just use a mouthwash like listerine thats proven to kill bacteria and such.
just my opinion, but hope i helped.

No, it's not dumb at all. Warm or hot water is best, because warm/hot water kill all bacteria on your toothbrush. ]
Well when you boil water to get rid of germs and bacteria it's hot water right, so i brush my teeth with warmish-hot water than. That's the way i think of it, i know it sounds weird. ]
