how do i know if my hymen is broken? besides the whole bleeding thing, is there something i can actually feel or something to let me know?

I agree with the previous advice, you can usually feel if it's broken or not. But doctors' can tell for sure. Most girls hymen are broken before intercouse, because it can broken from the simplest things. Such as sports, riding a bike, inserting a tampon, etc.

Actually, I have to respectfully disagree with the previous advice. Your hymen can be broken before intercourse and it can remain after intercourse. Here's the wikipedia article which shows a hymen:

You can usually feel at the opening of your vagina whether it's blocked by the membrane. A doctor can usually tell you for sure.

Not really. Some don't experience any feeling or bleeding.
If you've had intercourse, it's broken. There is no question in that.
