Does it hurt when it goes in for the first time? Will popping my cherry hurt? Should i do it now? I think im ready but im not sure. Every is telling me to relax but i cant! Maybe if i learn more about it i will calm down. Anways. Please Help!!
Thanks!<3
It does not hurt whatsoever, it's definitely different than wearing a pad, but it doesn't cause you any pain. And I'm just about positive, especially, with only your first tampon that you're going to "pop your cherry." Which the literal meaning to this is breaking your hymen, which can be broken by inserting tampons and playing sports, even to simple things such as riding a bike. So there's really nothing to worry about, as far as that.
You should only use them, if you want to. They would probably be more comfortable while playing sports for you, but that's only my opinion. And I also think it's a good thing to know, I mean, even if you chose not to continue using them, and stick with the pads -- at least you would know how to insert one if you would like to use them later on in your life. Because it's a really good thing to know, it's just one of those things you need to know, in my opinion.
Here is all the information you need to know about tampons. From one of the biggest brands (O.B. Tampons) for selling tampons:

Using a tampon very rarely pops your cherry. It doesnt go in engouh, but if it was to do that you wouldnt even notice or know since your already bleeding.
You should only put them in when you have your period dont try doing it now if you dont otherwise its bad for you. People are deffinatly right when you put it in you need to relax so it will be esier. Just dont worry about it and you should be fine. There are also directions in the box if you need further help.
luna45 answered Monday January 8 2007, 10:24 pm: tampons are really easy and nothing to worry about, i was freaking out too. When people say "pop your cherry" its not something thats inside you. it actually the skin OUTSIDE your vaginal orfice. so theres no way you can tear that with a tampon. try putting your foot up on a toilet or something, its easier, and the boxes of tampons come with simple, easy stres free instructions. good luck ;) [ luna45's advice column | Ask luna45 A Question ]
deathwillcome answered Monday January 8 2007, 10:15 pm: First- using tampons doesn't pop your cherry...not deep enough...so don't fret! Second- no it shouldn't hurt unless you put it in wrong, or it's too big. Also, it's a good idea to not leave it in more than an hour and a half or so for the first couple times that you use one, until you find the right time that you need to take it out. Third- yes, this is a good idea for the sports thing, less sticky/stinky/messy. Fourth- There really isn't anything to be scared of. It isn't that bad, I actaully like it better. If you don't trust yourself, though, I would wear a small pad with it, just in case you forget to change it or you don't take out early enough. Better to be safe than sorry. But there really isn't a certain date or age that you should use them. I swim a lot and so I did the same thing you are. it's not that bad...
