Is there any way to get like the little pop up in the corner to pop up when someone signs on, off, is idel, comes back, etc. like on 5.9 but enable it on 6?

Go to Edit at the top of your buddy list and then to Settings. When the Settings box pops up, go to Notifications. It should say " display notifications in lower right corner when:" You need to check that box next to it. Also theres little boxes under that, which you can also check & uncheck. That should work.

go to the top then edit, then settings, then general IM and at the bottom it should have a box to check where it says buddy chat

yes you have to go to edit>settings then when that comes up on the right side click on notifications and click the ones you want to pop up then click apply and tehn save
