Everyone's first periods are a pain and changes form person to person but it shouldn't last for more than a week. Just change your pad/tampon 2 or 3 hrs since it's heavy and make sure you use a long pad. If you're afraid of it leaking, use the long ones--for nights and that way you'll be secure with the leaking problem.
And it's not bad "if the blood gets on the place where you pee out of?" as you've quoted. If you feel iffy about it get the pad from Always with the little wipes attached to the front ]
First periods are unpredictable. There's no way of telling, but it's usually between 3 and 5 days, according to what I've read. They can be itchy. Additionally, you may have a hard time getting used to the feeling of a pad or tampon down there and the menstrual fluid can cause itching. Change your pad or tampon often (every 1-4 hours). You can use some over-the-counter Vagisil wipes, which help greatly with the itching. They come individually wrapped in packets, so they're discreet. Your parent, sister, friend, aunt, etc. may buy these for you if you are embarrassed. Make sure to keep your labia clean and wipe from front to back. Shower every day and use a water-moistened cloth at night. DO NOT USE SOAP ON YOUR VAGINAL AREA. Yes, it's a little bad to get the blood in your urinary meatus (the hole where the pee comes out) because the menstrual fluid has bacteria in it and the bacteria can travel up the urethra, which is the tube leading from your bladder to the outside of your body. Once there, the bacteria can cause a bladder infection, which is very uncomfortable and rarely develops into a kidney infection.
It'll get better, dear. Hang in there!
