1) This might seem stupid, but check to see if you have the right earbud in your right ear, and the left earbud in your left ear. They don't feel good if they are switched =] Most earbuds have tiny 'L' and 'R' on the appropriate bud.
2) This is similar to the person below me, but try to take a headband and place it over your ears. I have done this before, and it is fairly comfortable.
