I am NOT a doctor. Just on the off chance that this is it, the symptoms you list are very vague, which is how the pain from appendicitis sometimes starts.
Sabine answered Sunday December 24 2006, 11:38 pm: Those are pretty vague symptoms, but I also think it has nothing to do with your period, in all likelihood. Advil is great for most people. It will, indeed, work without food, but it can irritate your stomach and even cause bleeding. Be careful not to exceed recommended dosages on the bottle. Tylenol is okay, too, but it may not work as well. Check your Midol box, because there are different formulations and some have Tylenol (acetaminophen), some have Advil (ibuprofen), and some have Naprosyn (naproxen sodium). Whatever pain reliever is listen on the box you should avoid taking separately. For example, don't take the Midol with acetaminophen along with Tylenol because it has the same ingredient as Tylenol (plus caffeine and a diuretic) in it already and you could overdose and hurt your liver. Something you might find helpful is a warm heating pad or hot pack. Put a warm, wet towel in a plastic bag. Wrap a dry towel around it and use it as a compress. That may relieve the pain as well. I hope it gets better. Either way, since you're likely around the age of 16, make sure you let a parent know what's happening if it's not gone tomorrow.
TheHeadHonchoPoncho57 answered Sunday December 24 2006, 9:17 pm: I highly doubt that it has anything to do with your period. If your period stopped 3 days ago, you're not going to get cramps.
Eat something and then take some Advil. Advil/Motrin/whatever does NOT work properly if you have an empty stomach.
xlickablex answered Sunday December 24 2006, 9:16 pm: it might just be because your getting older and your developing more, maybe. Just continue what your doing and if it happens again on your next period, you might want to see a doctor. Or if it gets any worse this time you might should ask your mom and look up cramps and stuff online somewhere to see if its common. Hope I helped and hope you feel better =] [ xlickablex's advice column | Ask xlickablex A Question ]
