what does to "tag team" someone mean?

Basically its an action in which two people are participating or "teaming up" on another person.
This can be used in referance to sex, beating someone up, playing a game, etc.

I more frequently hear it when pertaining to sexual things.
For example, two guys having sex with a girl. One will have sex with her for a little bit, then the other guy comes in and does his thing, then it goes back and forth.

Not sure the point, but yeah.

well, it could mean either two guys beating up another person, or two guys having sex with a girl. depends on the context
