I'm 22/F.. I've always been thin, and a slow-eater. I have never been mindful of my weight or body image. I eat what I want, trying to have good nutrition, of course, but never skip on anything I might crave, like chocolate or ice cream.. I'm 5'6 and weigh about 117 (the last time I checked). This is considered normal for my body type, but i could afford to gain a few pounds. I know a lot of women want the opposite, but not me. Is there anyone who knows how I can gain a couple extra pounds/build more muscle while staying healthy? I do yoga fairly regularly and try to maintain a good diet, though it's sometimes difficult since I'm a student. Thanks!
Now most results we see (good or bad) come mainly from the diet. You can add calories slowly and subtly by increasing portion size- just eat more of what you have been eating and maybe add in more complex carbohydrate calories from pasta in particular. Also don't be afraid to use condiments such as mayo, mustard, ketchup with certain things and dairy always helps pack on a few pounds. In between a meal you can have a big peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread with a big glass of milk. Just add in the calories slowly; but don't be afraid to eat. HypnotizexMe answered Tuesday December 19 2006, 11:49 am: its better to gain pounds with muscle than fat. you should maybe start running or do a few crunches and get some muscle. Push ups will get you muscle on your arms. I also recommend squats . 20 per day =]Muscle weighs more than fat so gaining a little more muscle is the same as gaining a lot of fat in your body. hope i helped! Also eating a little more snacks will help you gain some weight. =]good luck [ HypnotizexMe's advice column | Ask HypnotizexMe A Question ]
peebles7 answered Tuesday December 19 2006, 8:42 am: the best thing to do is bulk up, because if you gain more muscle, you'll also gain more weight. Start going to the gym and focus different parts of your body, arms one day, abs the next. good luck [ peebles7's advice column | Ask peebles7 A Question ]
