Question Posted Saturday December 16 2006, 2:55 pm
Hi. I love my body. I am a little shorter than 5 feet and about 90 pounds. I DO it like I am supposed to. Sure, I'm skinny. I love my butt, my boyfriend loves my butt. The whole world does. :]
I HATE my stomach. When I lay down or suck in, I LOVE it.
How can I make my stomach look like that?
I don't need a diet. Maybe an exercise plan?
I don't want like tone or anything. I want it to look flat, and thin and cute like when I lay down.
The answer to your question is diet. Particularly if you are not looking for muscle definition (which is the only thing crunches will give you).
In order to make your stomach slimmer you have to lose weight. That implies eating right, and eating less than you burn. In this respect the best exercise to do is not something that isolates the stomach. The best exercise you can do is something that burns calories.
So doing cardios is ideal. Running, stairclimbing, sports, etc. For best results do it in the morning before breakfast if you have the discipline (I know i dont) since it hits your fat stores directly.
Note: There is no guarantee on earth that your butt wont diminish in this process. We cannot control the way the fat burning process is carried out unfortunately. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]

Also, what the other person said about exercises isn't really going to help you. 5-10 crunches is going to do absolutely nothing, and buying a stomach pad is a waste of money. What you need is a big exercise ball, rest your back, right below shoulderblades on it, and do 15 crunches straight, 15 rotating to the right when you go up and 15 rotating to the left. make sure to keep your neck straight rather than curling it like you're doing a somersault. Also, if you don't have a ball, lay down on your back and do reverse crunches, so that you raise your but and lower back up rather than your head. also try crunches while keeping your legs folded indian style, or lay on your back, and straighten your legs, and do crunches while keeping them about 6 inches from the floor.
If you actually do these, you'll see a difference. [ peebles7's advice column | Ask peebles7 A Question ]

You can do crunches, which mainly, not completely, helps burn fat on the stomach. Start off with 5-10 crunches a day and slowly increase. Doing 60 of them or whatever can cause cramps, and you'll want to stop. Doing a little and slowly increasing can keep you in shape, and prevent most chances of cramping of the stomach (or pulling muscles).
If it's more for temporary reasons, there are products out there, like stomach pads, that can slim your stomach (temporarily), making it flat and looking flawless.
