Question Posted Saturday December 16 2006, 11:00 am

13/f ive had my period since i was ten and i just started using a tampon so i have a few questions about it. is it normal for it to hurt when i sit down? or did i do something wrong? also i feel a little lightheaded. could this be due to the tampon? and also any other advice would be highly helpful

If you can feel the tampon when you move or sit down, that means it's not in enough. That's not a bad thing, it's just uncomfortable. To fix ittt, take the tampon out and insert a new one. Make sure you push it up until you can't feel it at all. Read the directions on the tampon box. Wear the lightest absorbancy for your flow. And change your tampon every 6 hours. Hope I helped!

If it hurts when you sit down, that means that the tampon isn't in all the way, or is in wrong, so try pushing it in a little more and taking it on and inserting a different tampon. Also, if your feeling light headed its probably because this is the first time you used a tampon.

I'm 13 and female too.. and I got my period when I was ten as well. Umm.. i have no idea about all you said, but I'd reccomend just using regular pads. Obviously, if you feel lightheaded and such, there is a problem. Maybe ask your mom or something.. or someone else will answer.
