cheerleading??? i want to try out for the cheerleading team next year, but i've never been pn cheerleading..what do i do?

hey im on cheerleading team and ill tell you what you need to know. First of all, you HAVE to act confident. thats a must. Smile all the time and for those days of tryouts, act like you are the best person on the world no matter what other people think. Judges look for confidence :] Also its better for you to know how to do jumps. Like a toe touch. you might want to start stretching outlike doing Lunges or Splits so you can get the flexibility to get your feet off the air. :] and cheerleading is also all about motions. Make sure all your motions are SHARP and TIGHT- No loose motions. and its better if u have some tumbling skills like roundoffs and backhandsprings!! but i dont think the tumbling skills will be that much of the points. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! You don't have to be the best dancer or cheerleader to make the squad but you have to have rythym. If you don't know how to dance or you don't have rythym, find a friend or family member that does, and ask them to help you. And another thing... Be VERY CONFIDENT! If you go to try out, and you are not confident, you won't do well. You have to show them that you KNOW you can do it. GOOD LUCK!! ]
I have a couple friends that never cheered and now they're on the squad. Don't worry about it though & just relax. If you really want to cheer, commit to it and you'll do fine. Have a positive attitude no matter what and just try your hardest. You'll learn everything and you'll be able to do it. Think of it as a fun expiriance and you'll make a lot of new friends. ]
