The first hour of exercise is called anarobic exercise because you are not using breath during this exercise. You need to exceed an hour of tredmill or running or sit ups, etc. to be able to get your heart rate to wear it needs to truly be to loose weight.

Try walking on the tredmill for an hour and a half while you are doing your school work or reading, etc.

As long as you are eating healthy and doing any type of cardio exercise for at least 25 mins you will lose weight (they wont shed in a day though). Also, if you can try to not just run on the treadmill at the same pace..increase the resistance by running/walking uphill or run really fast for a minute and then run slowly for two. This allows the body to experience new things instead of just the same thing everyday.

That sounds like a good plan. You could start smaller, say twenty minutes of slow jogging each day or every two days, if you want. You could gradually work your way up.
