what's the amount of calories an average person should eat a day?

Maybe give some free advice about: Health? orphans answered Sunday December 3 2006, 1:48 pm: the amount of calories you should consume a day depends on your weight and activity level because the more you weigh and eat the more calories you burn per day. if you want to stay at your current weight, you have to consume as many calories as you burn a day. 2000 calories is burned by the average person in a day, so 2000 calories ought to be consumed by the average person to keep him at his current weight. don't ask me who the average person is and what be does ect...because you are a 14 year old girl you are probably going to have to eat less than 2000 per day to keep from gaining weight...if you'd like to calculate how many cals you burn in a day...follow this link...www.caloriecounter.com [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

^ That entire site is great. That link will take you to the "Total Daily Calorie Needs" page. It'll give you a good general idea of how many calories you should be eating, based on height, weight, age, activity level, etc. Eating a balanced, healthy diet and exercising moderately is key not just to weight loss, but total weight management & being healthy.
