um just that how do i tell if i am wasting my time or if its worth it with out lettin this girl know i like her?

For a girl you like, its never wasting time. Well there are many ways to talk to a girl without showing you like her. If you talk to her already, talk to her more. If you notice shes open or happy around you, flirt a bit, she might like you (esp. if she laughs alot). Or just talk like an average friend
