My history teacher taught me this way of studying a few years ago. Its amazing, and it works. It can be boring, though, but if you study for at least 20 minutes day for 3 days before a quiz/test, you'll do fine.

Make a list of all the important key terms-- people's names, dates (that probably doesn't apply to biology, but if it does...), events, important topics, and things like that. This can be on a scrap piece of paper. Now, take another piece, and write the first key term. Write everything you know about it. Then write the next key term. Again, write everything you know about it. Do this without looking at a notebook or textbook. Skip about 2 lines between every key term, because at the end of your list, you should go back to a notebook or textbook and make sure there is nothing you missed. IT IS GOOD TO REPEAT INFORMATION IN EACH DEFINITION. Repetition is review. (For example, say you were talking about how to find volume, then how to find density. For volume, you would say to measure LWH and multiply them together. Then, say 'M/V=D.' Then for density, you would say, 'Find mass, then find volume by finding LWH and multiplying them together"... I think you get it.) This is studying in itself, but after you finish, quiz yourself on it. Put a check next to the ones you don't know and an X next to the ones you do. Then review for the topics with X's next to them.

Good luck =)

Try making flashcards, they act as rewriting your notes and they are really easy to go over and to separate what you know from what you don't know.
