Everyone gets given a number after signing up.
There should be a box on the homepage telling you to create your own username, but to be careful and make a wise choice because that's the one you will have forever :)

You could create a new one and the maybe you wont suck so much at life.

if you just signed up, and you haven't already made your own username, just log in and look right above the box that says, "inbox, friend requests, etc" and there should be a thing that says, "create your own myspace url!" or something. just click that and follow the instructions.
