Make an appointment to see your doctor, and just talk to him/her about what has happened. They will take the necessary steps to determine whether or not it is Herpes, and then will prescribe what is best for you to use. While one person may take one prescription for it, you could have allergies to it so never take anything for it unless your doctor says it's okay.
You'll be fine, these types of things are getting to be more common. Unfortunately for you it doesn't sound like your boyfriend let you know that he had herpes from the get-go, and these are unfair consequences. Make sure you do the right thing if things don't work out with your boyfriend, by telling future sexual partners about this.

Same thing happened with me and my boyfriend, I get cold sores [herpes] all the time, and now he gets them. :[ Unforunately the only thing you can do is use cold sore medicine when you get them, and use carmex every day to try and prevent them. :] [ amygwendoline's advice column | Ask amygwendoline A Question ]
