Just give your hair a break, not permanently of course, just a few days. Also, about blowdrying... you could try to take a shower at night and let it air dry. By the time you wake up the next day it'll be just as dry as if you dried it. My hair's poofy too and I know it's hard to leave it alone. If you're willing to try new products, Garnier Fructis has a nice serum called sleek and shine. It helps decrease the poofiness. Hope this helped. [ justjor's advice column | Ask justjor A Question ]

Depending on which straighteners you use, most of them operate at between 150 and 200 degrees celsius. That sort of heat will absoloutely ruin your hair if you use it that regularly. I used to straighten my hair just twice a week and after 2 and a half years, I had to abandon the straighteners altogether because my hair was getting shorter by itself from the damage!
The only thing you can do to get the hair back in condition is change the way you do your hair. You say you blow dry your hair every day so I assume you wash it every day too. This is also bad for it. You should wash your hair a maximum of every three days, as any more than this will dry out the scalp and increase the production of the natural oils your hair needs to keep it looking healthy. No amount of washing will stop this and instead you need to lessen how often you wash it.
Once a week, if possible, leave your hair to dry naturally instead of using a hairdryer. Hairdryers don't damage hair as much as straighteners, but they do cause some level of damage. If you really have to blow dry your hair each time, make sure you use a heat protection spray on your hair first and keep the hairdryer around 15cm from your hair while drying. Rough drying (using your fingers as a comb or allowing the hair dryer to work alone) is also less damaging than using a brush or comb while drying. (In addition I should add that you should NEVER brush wet hair but dry it slightly first so it is damp and then use a comb, which won't cause so much damage).
When it comes to straightening, try finding a heat protection serum or spray and apply that first. You should only use straighteners once or twice a week so if you have the sort of hair that needs taming, you will be better off looking for an alternative solution. Sweep the straighteners through the hair quite quickly and ALWAYS ensure the hair is thoroughly dry before straightening, as damp hair will be very easily damaged by the heat.
I would also recommend for now that you use a repairing shampoo and conditioner. Pantene do a good shampoo for this and I can't recommend Aussie Three Minute Miracle more highly for damaged hair. It really does work wonders if you leave it on for around 8 minutes, instead of three.
Finally, remember that healthy hair isn't just about the products you do or don't use or the way you do and don't style it. If you have a healthy diet and drink the correct amount of water every day (2 litres), you will find the condition of your hair will gradually also start to improve.
