First of all, WOW. You are so lucky! Okay well I dont know if your friends rich or what ever but $250 is ALOT of money to spend on some one. I would ask him to lower the price but, thats just me. Okay well how about you just ask for the money and then save it so when you find something that you DO want you can get it. Also, maybe spend it on some new shoes or something.
Hope I helped<3

First of all, I know this isn't my place but I would tell him to lower the price. $250 is a quite alot of money and quite an extravagant gift to be giving a friend, but like I said, I know it isn't my place, so if you want to use all the $250, that's your choice.

I would just have him either do your suggestion and get gift cards to the stores you like, or as the person said below, just have him give you a check for it and then you can purchase whatever you want, whenever you want.

Maybe you and your friend can use all that money to plan an outing somewhere and just hang out with eachother the whole day and enjoy eachothers company. Go to the park and buy food and just hang out, maybe go to dinner and a movie. Share your birthday present for both of you to enjoy. It'll be fun, and bring the friendship closer too. Maybe even go to a concert together for a band you both like and you can buy t-shirts or a bag or whatever they're selling there with the bands name on it and everything.

I hope I helped.
