Is this normal?

Question Posted Saturday November 4 2006, 11:01 pm

Well, whenever I'm sitting down and get up, my eyes pretty much completely black out. I can barely see anything, it doesn't last very long, it goes away in like 10 seconds, but I'm wondering if this is normal or not? It's kind of scaring me, and I thought that maybe it was because I got up too fast, but that wasn't the problem because I tried getting up more slowly and my eyes still blacked out. I wear contacts, if that has anything to do with it...

Has this happened to anyone? Is this normal?

I've had this for years and my doctor said it's because I have low blood pressure. Changing heights means my BP can't keep up with the sudden elevation.
It could also be something like anaemia. If you are that worried, get it checked by a doctor just to make sure there is nothing else going on.
Hope that helps and good luck.
