Alcohol

Question Posted Monday October 23 2006, 8:24 pm

How long does alcohol stay in your system?
And is it possible to get an alcohol test to see if you've been drinking (not that I have, its just that a few of my friends have and I'm worried that they'll be kicked off the field hockey team if we are tested)

SO:
*How long does it stay in your system
*Can you get tested to see if you've drank some?

Imperialistic answered Tuesday October 24 2006, 2:57 am:
Alcohol stays in your blood for less than 24 hours depending on your metabolism. About ten percent of this is expelled by breath, perspiration, and urine. After a day of abstaining from drinking, there will be little evidence to support that you were drinking unless you are an alcoholic (in which case, your liver might reveal that you have been drinking).
You can be tested by a breathalyzer (which is the usual way for cops to distinguish between a sober person and a drunk person). Your perspiration, urine and blood can also be tested.
