I don't think age really matters. I mean, you two are only 2 years apart if you think about it. There's some parents out there who might be like, 6 years apart. Which means whenever the one was in 12th grade, the other was only in 6th! It just seems like a huge difference because of the grades.
I would just hang out with him sometime soon, and just flirt with him a little and send him some signals that you like him, hug him a bit, compliment him, you know. And then during the end of the day, just let him know how you feel. Just be like,"Hey, _____, I really had alot of fun today with you. I just wanted to tell you.. I like you." And if he feels the same, great! If he doesn't, just tell him you hope the two of you can remain good friends still cause it's better to have him as a friend then nothing, right?
