i want flat abs! i am 15/f to start off. i have a little tummy fat and pretty big love handles (it runs in the family, we are all VERY high waisted =[) and i want to get rid of them. i have been doing some situps and i play volleyball and i haven't been eating that badly of junk foods. but is it a waste to do situps when i still have fat? like i have heard that you first should run off the fat where you have none, and then do situps to tone them and make then like hard or whatever. but i am not much of a runner and i do play sports. so is it stupid to do situps and hope that my love handles and stomach will get smaller if you have to have no fat before you do situps? thank you =]

You should try to maintain a low-carb diet, and also try to get as much cardio into your workout plan as you can. It's bad to just go straight to situps without getting your heart going first. And cardiovascular activity is the best way to burn off fat and build muscle. If you maintain a low carb diet and do cardio along with sit-ups and exercises for your back and love handles, you should start to see results in 2-3 weeks if you work out 3-5 times a week. Good luck. -Angel ]
Doing sit ups helps big time, trust me.
But for love handles, do twice as many SIDE situps than regular.
you don't have to run first, there's no rule.
Just keep trying and you'll get there.
:]
good luck! ]
