Well, my parensts usually put a limit on what i get. They usually say i can have around $200 for christmas, or maybe a little bit more. Honestly though, you can't really put a price on what your parents should spend for you, becuase most times, like my family, we just don't have the money.

All parents are different depending on their beliefs and how much money they have. But you could try to figure it out by looking at the things you got online and adding it up just so you could have an estimate.

It depends on how much they want to spend on you and how much they're able to spend on you. Some parents don't have a lot of money so they aren't able to get what their children want. However, it shouldn't really matter since Christmas isn't about gifts, it's about family. Although, I usually get a big gift (I got a snowboard a couple of years ago and that was $700+), than a bunch of little things; CD's, Chocolates, PJ's, DVD's, Clothes, Money, etc.

well, my family may be a bit different. my parents normally spend more on me for christmas (to put it extremely bluntly, we have money) than my friends' parents spend on them. every year i get some kind of musical stuff (i'm a musician) and then just some other stuff. last year, i got a pro stage piano and some other stuff (like DVDs or CDs and clothes and stuff), so that would have been around 4,000 or 4,500. however, this is probably WAY out of proportion, i think my friends parents probably spend half that much, but i'm not really sure. the year before that i think the amount would have been around 2,000. this past year, my big gift was the piano so that's why it was a lot.

There is no "right amount".

Some parents have a lot of money to spend and some don't. The amount of money spent does not in any way
reflect the feelings they have for their children.

You can give me a one if you like but I think you come off sounding a bit selfish. Stop worrying about "things" and how much money is spent on you. Instead try doing something for someone who gets nothing. :)
