pregnant and depressed about size

Question Posted Wednesday September 20 2006, 6:16 pm

im almost 6 months pregnant, and i feel enormous. i had an extremely flat stomach before, and very toned abs. i miss my old tummy so bad, and NONE of my clothes fit anymore. i went shopping today for clothes, but didnt really have enough time to try them on, i bought t hem way bigger than i needed, cuz i figured i could wear them later, but ALREADY- they dont fit~!! i have become so depressed over my size, although friends and family tell me im barely showing. ive gained so much weight in my hips and butt, its a struggle enough to feel comfortable in anything but pajamas. i think my boyfriend might be losing interest in me slowly becuase of my weight as well. someone please help me!!!!!!!!!!i love this child more than anyone on this earth, but this mama's got her baby blues.

Try to remember that you can lose the weight after you have your baby and get back on your feet. You wouldn't have gained weight if you hadn't been pregnant in the first place. Girl, you should wear what is comfortable to you! What's important is having a healthy baby. You can always diet and excercise after your child is born.

Yes, I can so relate to how you are feeling. The big bum, the huge tummy and the fat thighs. It will go back to normal once you have had your baby, but remember it takes nine months to get that big and it will take more than a week to get back into shape. Have you asked your partner how you look? - most men don't really notice you putting on baby weight - they tend to see the lovely, blooming mother of their child.

All mothers have their blue days and it is quite a natural thing but the best bit is when you are holding that precious bundle in your arms. It is all worth it in the end. I wish you and your new family a very happy life together.

trust me, when you have the baby it should all go back to normal in time. when you're pregnant you're supposed to look like that. and people don't think "oh she's really fat" when they look at you, they know your pregnant! try buying clothes that fit you for now, and then when you've had your baby and all your weight goes back to normal then go back to regular clothes, and if you plan on having no more children then either give your big clothes away to other pregnant mothers (or soon to be), or sell them.
