I do that to my hair a lot.
Clip up the top layer, and the straighten you bottom layer super straight.
Then take down the top layer and straighten it.
Then take and wave the top layer in random places.

A lot of people don't know what a waver is. So here is where you can buy one at-

PS. its only like 14 bucks

Straighten your hair and then crimp or curl sections on top of the straightened hair. Looks nice if done correctly. Good luck.

its a pretty dark pic, but it looks like what i do to my hair. i wave it. you can do this either by buying a waver( i got myne at walmart for 15 bucks, or you can put your hair in like, 10-12 braids when its a little bit damp before you go to bed. the look will be the same. jsut waving it is a little more time consuming- depending on the lenghth. i would suggest not getting a crimper- make sure its a waver- because a crimper will give you an 80's look, that im sure youre not wanting. good luck,.
