My friend and I were discussing this kid, and he has this weird muscle disease where he has to work out or his bones with get all messed up and not be able to support his weight. I knew all this, but then my friend told me that he'll die when he's 20, which is only in 5 years. I'm actually like, extremely worried. I don't know if this is true though. Nobody in my family seems to know. Help?
It could possibly be muscular dystrophy. If that is the case how long a person lives depends on the type
they have. Some people can live into their 40's.
Here is some information on muscular dystrophy. It may not be what he has. You can read it though and see if anything sounds familiar. Some with the disease do die before they are 20 if they have respiratory problems. I know you are worried but try to keep things upbeat. I will bet he would rather you ask him about his disease too. Don't pretend it doesn't exist. If he is your friend, he may like having someone to talk to about it.
