Band Life with a class clown

Question Posted Wednesday September 6 2006, 9:10 pm

(13/f) Okay, so there's this one boy in my 1st hour advanced band class and i really suck at band. Anyway, I don't want to embarrass myself and he's in the chair right behind me, so, he can see and hear how I play(which is not too well). He's mainly the class clown and is always cracking jokes. He's really cute and yesterday(which was the first day of school) he got in trouble and had to move up next to me and so he like, whispered in my ear, "I love you" in a really goofy voice so obviously I know he's joking. But I developed a crush on him instantly but I know he has a girlfriend because I saw him sitting with her at lunch. I am REALLY quite shy and I want to talk to him and be noticed but I don't know how! Can anyone help?

A similar thing happened to my friend a little while ago, she was in band class and the class clown went up to her and was like you are hott, I love you.(we was kidding) Well of course she developed a crush on him, but like you he too had a girlfreind. Well, what I reccomend to do is just act like a friend to him don't try to be anything more right now that he has a girlfriend. Just start a conversation by saying like can you believe what she is making us play or look at Bobby over there he looks so concentrated. Then when he and his grilfriend break up, you will be right there ready to make the next move!!! (And by the way my friend ended up going out with the guy using my advice)
Ask if you need any more help

How do you even know that he has a girlfriend??? have you seen them kiss or hold hands or something like that?? What I say is first make sure that he's not dating somebody. If he's dating somebody, dont do anything! wait until the time is right. But if he's not dating somebody, to get him to notice you is to be friendly to him. When he makes a joke, laugh at it. for example- that goofy "i love you" voice... you should laugh at that and say "same to you" in the same goofy voice. That shows that you like his jokes and also are interested in him. First become friends with him. Talk to him and laugh at his jokes. Then start to flirt with him and just ask him out.

I hope I helped!

Don't move up on him. He has a girlfriend that he likes, and she likes him. I wouldn't try to "get noticed" by him because with his girlfriend and all, he probably won't be interested. Be his friend for right now, but if they break up in the near future, and you still like him, then you can ask him out. But don't try to get cute with him now because if she finds out, she'll probably get really pissed off.
