Question Posted Wednesday September 6 2006, 7:17 pm
yesterday i went for about a mile long run and 3/4 of the way through, i started feeling a really bad pain in my lower stomach. the pain felt REALLY similar to the cramp pains i get when i have my period. it also felt like i had to go to the bathroom. so i ran home quickly, came home and went to the bathroom and i couldn't even get up for 10 minutes because the cramps hurt so bad. i ran again today and it happened again, only not AS bad, but it still hurt. usually when i go running, i take water with me. these two times i didn't. could this be the cause, or do you think it's something else?

It could be your appendix, or you could be getting your period, or you could have pulled a muscle running and then you stress it when you run. You could always try laying off the running for about a week or maybe two and then you could go back to it.

I suggest eating a snack such as a banana. It helps get rid of the cramps and also is a good snack. yes, I think that since you didn't bring any water, I think that might also be a reason.
