wannabeinmahentourage answered Monday September 4 2006, 1:43 pm: musical theater is also my passion and this has happened to me before. you are doing this because you have a passion for it, not for people to like you. dont let anyone else get to you and im sure someone will like you. you share a common interest, so there will definately be something to talk about. try not to be scared and relax. show your confidence and talent. compliment some other people to get a conversation started. even if they are kinda bad at performing, tell them you like their outfit. if they dont respond and start talking to you, dont sweat it. its their loss. im sure someone will want to be friends with you. call someone or ask if they want to hang out after rehearsal or go over lines with you. ask multiple people and maybe invite one of your friends from school to come along. if you have someone there, it will possibly be less awkward. just be confident about it and dont let anything bring you down [ wannabeinmahentourage's advice column | Ask wannabeinmahentourage A Question ]
adviice_whore answered Monday September 4 2006, 1:05 pm: you should atleast know one or two kids doing it and if you dont then you can always make new friends. why wouldnt they like you? just stay confident and be yourself and go up to new people and say hi im ___ whats your name and become friendly with them. making friends is easy and as long as your not mean to them theres no reason why they wouldnt like you. good luck [ adviice_whore's advice column | Ask adviice_whore A Question ]
LiSaxOBaBii answered Monday September 4 2006, 12:12 pm: Chances are you're going to find others in the group who are just as passionate and usually that's enough to relate to a person with. As long as you're considerate of others and take direction well, there is not a legit reason to be worried. Things are only what you make them and if you walk in nervous that's no way to stand out from every one else because everyone has those feelings. Try to be the outgoing one. mcoolio601 answered Monday September 4 2006, 11:08 am: Ok, first of all, musical theatre= good choice. :) second of all, if you truley love it and it's your passion, it doesn't matter what anyone says or thinks about you. If you don't make friends then, oh well, sometimes you, sometimes you don't. But if you are really good at acting that will already win over atleast one friend and if they don't like you, amaze them and they'll be like "wow, she's good" and they really won't have any reason to not like you. Just be nice and friendly so they don't have anything against you.
hope i helped supastar ;)
