however, there are always pro's and con's....
pro: its cheap (basically free), and healthy !!
(not just for skin...the rest of you is recieving an advantage!)

The Body Book by Anne Akers Johnson
It's full of awesome body care recipes.
Heres one it's a multi-acting scrub:
It's called the "Oatmeal Scrub"
You need:
* 1 tbsp of ground oatmeal (to tone, soften && clean)
* 1tsp of lemon juice (to astringe, tighten pores)
* 2 tsp of yogurt (lightly moisterize)
&& just combine them all in a bowl. Then dampen your face w/warm water and spread the scrub in circuler motions around your face.((avoid your eyes. lemon juise && eyes DONT mix))
Then rinse your face w/warm water && pat dry with a clean towel.
&& I found another one for you on www.jellybean.com (i havent try this one yet, though)
'To zap zits with a homemade recipe pour one package of dry yeast into a bowl and add one teaspoon of water at a time. Mix until you have formed a thick paste. Dot the mixture on your pimples and leave on overnight. Rinse off in the morning.'

What I do to keep them down is I thoroughly wash my face three times a day. What I mean by "thoroughly" is it takes me probably 5 minutes.
First I use hot water and get a washrag wet with it. I lay it over my face till the rag cools off. Then I wash my face with AcneFree solutions. This is a cheap alternative to Proactive. It was only about $20 and it works really well. I wash my face with the step 1 which is a face soap. Then I use step 2 which is a toner. After that I get really really really cold water and put my washrag in it and then place the rag over my face for a few minutes. This closes your pores. Then I use a moisturizer. The AcneFree solutions has a moisturizer included in it, but I use a walmart moisturizer that has SPF15 in it. I do this when I wake up and when I go to bed.
When I take a shower I wash my face with a really super cheap [like $5] face wash that I keep in the shower.
If you have a pimple, try sleeping with a baking soda-based toothpaste on it. The baking soda helps dry the pimple up.
Green tea also helps. Boil a bag of green tea, then let it cool. Dip your washcloth in it after you've thoroughly cleaned your face and lay the cloth over your face. It really does help close and minimize pores.
Try buying a cheap acne cream that is for existing pimples. Supermarkets like Walmart and Target sell these.
If you pop a pimple, use cotton balls to push against your skin instead of your fingers because this will keep the pimple cleaner. Be sure to wash the area of the pimple regurally. If you wear makeup, try to use a makeup that is free of oils if you use foundation. CoverGirl makes a great concealer powder that helps absorb oils which is fantastic. If you do pop the pimple, put Neosporin or Polysporin on it to help it heal faster. Baking soda based toothpastes will help reduce redness in pimples.
ductape_n_roses answered Tuesday August 29 2006, 7:24 pm: Wow I've answered a lot of weight losing and acne problems yo. And yes, I've done them myself so don't worry about me giving an oil filled recipe to cause more break outs...
Green tea yo. Yes, green tea. Mix green tea bag or powder into hot water...mix thoroughly and let it cool to room temp. Wash your face with a face cloth..or cotton pads...but not your hands...anywhos wash your face, dry off(pat, don't rub) with a clean towel...then dunk cotton pads or face cloth (not the one you used to clean your face) into the green tea, and pat your face with the acne spots or just cover the whole face with the soaked towel or pads.
It'll smooth your skin, make your pores finer, clear away acne...etc. It's gonna take time but it's make your face beautiful like woah. Those cleansers that say will get rid of acne..and all those products, oral and skin medicines the dermatologist perscribe/give to you will make your acne disappear fast..but dry out the skin and whe n you stop using it, the acne will come back..so you get adicted to the meds and then in the long run, it will hurt your skin and if you take the oral med it will hurt oyur internally..just a headsup if you're planing to go to those dermotologists [ ductape_n_roses's advice column | Ask ductape_n_roses A Question ]
