kickboxing. please help!

okay, so i want to take a kickboxing class.
and like, i'm not confused about it .. do you physically fight people?

I'm a teacher. Mostly you just train but, occasionally you can sparr. Although, you don't have to if you dont' want to. In pretty much every street school it's optional or, it'll never come up

normally you ujust kick the punching bag thing or you do it with another, without makein actual contact. if you get good, then you go to a match/tournament, than you might physically fight people.
