I often have a stiff neck and shoulders, or if not stiff, at least they're tense. It annoys me, to say the least, and sometimes I can't resist the temptation to crack my neck (which is a Bad Habit, I know). Besides seeing a chiropractor (which I do, but not too frequently, unfortunately), are there any exercises (such as stretches) or remedies that can alleviate the tenseness?
mooch789 answered Sunday August 27 2006, 10:11 pm: You can try and relax your neck with a hot bath. Stop cracking your neck, that may be what's causing the problem. You neck gets stiff when you do crack it and it gets harder and harder to do it. Hope I helped! [ mooch789's advice column | Ask mooch789 A Question ]

As long as you don't do it too frequently, you can crack your neck to relieve your stiff neck because that's sometimes all it needs. For stiff shoulders, I always put my arms behind me and have someone push them together for me and that helps a lot. Hopefully this helped!
