Does anyone have any tips they can lend me on using a British accent. Or if anything, some random words with the phonetic spelling. I'm in need of the help because I'm trying out for a musical version of Peter Pan, so the accent should be very light and innocent, not full on. Thank you!!
For example with Peter, with an English accent you need more emphasis on the the e's and t.
ie peeter because Americans soften the t and put more emphasis on the -er ending.

I would suggest buying Peter Pan and listening to how Wendy or whatever character you're going for talk and try and practice to mimick it. I think [ at least Google says ] that there are different accents in differnt parts of British, so I have no clue the way I'm attempting it [ if I'm even successing at sounding British at all lol ] and they way you want it. So I suggest renting the movie and practicing it and trying to mimick it. I hope I helped. <3 [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
