How can I become friends with him?

I'm not really shy in case that helps.
I sit next to this one guy in three of my classes. He's really funny, nice, and a really good friend to have. No, I don't like him. I'm friends with his about five or six of his good friends, but not him. I'm not sure if he even knows my name! He doesn't hate me or think I'm weird, though. Is there any way I can become friends with him? (Like some way to start a conversation without sounding like some stalker/freak or at least let him know that I'm alive and I have a name?! Don't say flirting because I end up looking like a freak.)

Well, have all your friends and him and stuff hang out together, and whenever everyone's just sitting there talking, just listen to what he's saying, and then make a conversation about it and make him laugh and stuff and keep it going and then by the end of the night, just be like,"Hey, do you got a screename or something?" I hope I helped. <3

Well, why don't you invite over his five friends, and tell them to invite him. Or something like that, because you think it'll be fun.
And then, maybe you'll become better friends.
