i rolled my left ankle and it sort of hurts. I can walk on it, but it hurts when i turn my ankle in. I'm positive i didn't break anything or fracture it because it just feels a little sore. So i was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to make it heal pretty quickly because cross country starts soon and i don't want it to bother me. thanks =]

1) Try not to engage in ANY physical activity.
2) Sit/lie down and keep you ankle on elevation. Try to keep your ankle at an elevation above your heart. (your leg would be stretched out, o.k.? Use a pile of cushions or pillows, etc.)
3) Put an ice pack on your ankle. The maximum time the ice pack should be on the ankle is 10 min. So keep it on 10 min., take it off for a few min., then put the pack back on.

Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. dont walk on it! try to stay off of it for a while. then slowly start to turn your ankle around, if it hurts, stop immediatly. do that a couple of times a day and pretty soon it should be healed.
xomegaroni answered Thursday August 24 2006, 4:12 pm: get it checked out, elevate it, ice it, & try staying off it. i did that to my left ankle too [weird right] in either june/july. i didn't get it checked out. its still really sore, hurts, swollen, discolored, etc. you do not want that to happen. i'd suggest getting an ace bandage or something for the mean time when you do xc if you don't get it checked. i really suggest you do though.
