What kind of Program is this?

I want to edit my pictures to make them more interesting. I am more into photography.

But what I am wondering is what kind of program can I install onto my computer FOR FREE! to make my pictures look something similar to this:

Making the whole picture black and white but making a certain thing color.

Use gimp. There is even a tutorial on their site that shows you how to make a picture like the one you have up there.

[edit] sry for not posting the link before, I wasnt on for a long time and didnt have the time. Gimp can be a pain to download if your not sure what your doing but trial and error works. If you dont want to pay for photoshop you could try downloading the gimp

Well, I use Adobe Photoshop CS2, but I got the program close to $1000. I'm sure the price has dropped a lot since then though. Corel Photopaint is good too, but I'm not sure how much I got that for. I'm guessing it's about the same price. I'm sure you can find a free 30-day trail for either online. I did that before I bought it. Try searching on download.com or another site that has free trial downloads. If you want to actually buy the software, go to Best Buy or any computer software store & look for something a lot cheaper.

juss type in photoshop in the search bar

you can have a free 30-day trial of it.
