MelLeDisko answered Saturday August 19 2006, 4:23 am: Well first of all, he'll swab your mouth with novacaine [ at least he did with me i had him do it twice because i have a fear of needles and wanted to make sure it didn't hurt ] and whenever they gave me a shot of novacaine in my mouth, I hardly felt anything. Just a little pinch kinda feeling and pressure. And then he waits a little before he starts working. Then I'm not sure exaclty what they do cause I obviously can't look, haha, but they put this thing in your mouth so your tongue doesn't get in the way of what they're doing, and then they put this little vaccum thingy in my mouth so all my saliva gets dried up and then he just began drilling and working on my mouth and i felt nothing at all, really. And then he puts the filling in, and then he'll probably put water in your mouth and ask you to vaccum it all up so your mouths all cleaned up and good. And that's basically it. There's nothing to it. I hope I helped. <3 [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
confusedbabii answered Saturday August 19 2006, 12:24 am: well the dentist will probably give you novacaine...it's a shot and it doesnt hurt. he'll inject you with that, wait a few minutes, then start the work...he'll drill your teeth and put fillings in. it doesnt hurt at all because the novacaine numbs it so you don't feel any pain. it's harmless. i went throught the same thing, but don't worry it'll be fine!!
XoNeLLiE143oX answered Saturday August 19 2006, 12:23 am: i just got a filling 2 weeks ago and it didnt hurt at all.
first the dentist will put some numbing gel on the spot where the needle will go. then they put the needle, and it does not hurt at all. it feels like a tiny pinch and thats it. then the filling begins and you dont feel anything until they put a little metal thing in your mouth [i think its the filling] and it doesnt hurt, you just feel pressure. doesnt hurt at all. the most painful part is probably the needle which doesnt hurt at all. it doesnt hurt. so dont be worried =] i was worried when i got my filling because it was my first cavity.
ChicaPea answered Friday August 18 2006, 11:53 pm: 1. the dentist will freeze your mouth with a chemical in a needle. the needle doesn't hurt its just uncomfortable for a second. It feels like pinching kinda.
2. the dentist has to wait for the freezing to start working this usually takes a couple seconds it may take longer for some people
3. the the dentist will put a thing called a raincoat on you mouth. It is just a weird piece of metal with a plastic sheet on it. It keeps your toungue from wrecking the process
4. The dentist with poke around in you mouth for a minute to see whats goin on with you teeth.
5. then they put a vaccum like thing in your mouth to dry up the saliva.
6. then the dentists will put some glue like stuff on your tooth and a little on the filling too so it sticks
7. the he'll put this gun thing in your mouth. Its a uv light so the glue dries fast.
after the glue drye then he'll check if the filling is in corectly then take every thing out of your mouth and start everything over again with the other tooth.
