It would be bad if ANYONE thinks your sappy. You can't control your emotions, but you can teach yourself how to hide them. It's not always best for people to see your emotions.

Well, like all the other advicenators said, it basically depends on how he said it. Did he say it meanly like,"Jeez, you're so sappy"? Because then yeah, it's sort of bad because he might be saying you're too emotional or something. But if he was just saying it in a goofy way like "Haha, you're so sappy. It's cute." He just might be joking around with you.
I think it's alright to be a little sappy, because lots of girls are real emotional anyways, but I see why it's also considered kind of mean and all.

Yeah, it defiantly depends on how he said it/meant it.
If he said it in a cute, you're so goofy/silly way, then it's not bad.
But if he like, thinks you're too emotional, it isn't exactly a good thing. But, we don't know what he likes, so it's hard to tell.
