Yearbook Themes?

Question Posted Thursday August 17 2006, 12:36 pm

Does anyone know any yearbook themes? I'm really stressed out about it and it would be cool if there were some recommendations. Thanx

i'm the editor of my school yearbook this year. the theme we chose was "not your average..." because our school is going through a lot of construction and remodeling and we have a buttload of new teachers (so basically it's saying that our school isn't the same anymore). last year we chose the theme "pine tree & you" (my school's name is pine tree) but that theme sucked. it was basically like, the year through the school's eyes. and the headlines for the pages were like "novels & nouns" for language arts pages and things like that. at the end of the year each staff member has to make a "personal yearbook" which is pretty much a scrapbook, but you use the same rules and guidelines as the actual yearbook. but you choose your own theme. the theme i chose this past year was "what a difference a year makes" because i love the song of the same title. there are many websites that have huge lists of themes, as well. i actually keep a packet of different themes in the yearbook computer room at school, so i don't have it with me. i would recommend having a brainstorming session with your staff and talking about what's going on in the school this year. for example, when my school had its 150th anniversary, the theme for the yearbook was "time for..." so it's always really cool to incorporate stuff like that. i hope your yearbook turns out awesome! :)

I think it would be cool to do like an 70's or 80's theme, you know, with the big hair and weird jewelery? You could try to do like an 80's dance or something at your school and take pics. That'd be cool. Also, maybe like a new movie theme, like Pirates of the Caribbean 2, and get everyone to dress up like a pirate one day. That'd be cool, too. Hope I helped!

Hey!
I was on my school's yearbook staff last year and here were some of the suggestions:
CSI: (Your Town Name Here)
Under the Sea
Hawaii (like beaches and stuff)
Survivor (the show)
or.. you could just base it off any show.... check out the second page of my column toward the bottom.. I think I've answered a question similar to this...
let me know how it goes!

The Full Spectrum- emphasis on class colors and colors in general

You Think You Know...- Journal-themed

Building- if your school is under construction- with blueprints as cover.

Sorry those are the only ones I know.
